The axle is slightly undersized, so it is meant to be used with NSR gears, wheels and bushings
NOTE: When replacing spur or crown gears it is best to replace the pinion so that both parts are from the same manufacturer resulting in a very smooth mesh and higher performance (if you already have installed an NSR pinion there is no need to replace it with a new one when changing NSR spur gears) . The recommended pinion gears to use with the 6000 series of NSR spur gears (17.5mm) are the 691x series of pinions. NSR uses a .050 set screw to tighten their wheels and spur gears - the .050 set screw wrench for the 4/40 set screws NSR uses is available separately.
