The Porsche 935/78 was first manufactured in 1978. Alongside the various technical adaptations, this car was distinguished by its considerable dimensions. It's no surprise the Porsche was given the nickname "Moby Dick" by the works mechanics, after the white sperm whale in the novel by Herman Melville. This version of the Porsche 935/78 in the unmistakable paint job of the Italian manufacturers of steering wheels and rims, "Momo", proved just what extraordinary feats it was capable of at the Norisring race in 1981. The 80s livery achieved cult status and, although it was adapted over the years, the yellow writing on a red background was a permanent feature.
